Deciding between Outpatient Addiction Treatment and Rehab Center in Michigan

Both outpatient addiction treatment and rehabilitation treatment in Michigan are quite prominently used within the state. Both these treatment methods are targeted at complete addiction treatment, but they do serve different kinds of people. The nature of the addiction is one major deciding factor. If the person has just started with the addiction, then an outpatient treatment program in Michigan would be just adequate for the task, but if the person has been into the addiction for a long while, then a mere outpatient treatment won’t do. This is the time when a rehab treatment would be needed.

There’s one more point that tells you that you would need to look for rehabilitation treatment. This is the issue of health complications. If your addiction has brought in certain health problems within you, then a biological treatment procedure would be needed. You would need to have a detox program. The detox program in Michigan is aimed to cleanse the body from the presence of the alcohol or the drug, following the premise that a total absence of these substances from the body will reduce the urge that drives the person deeper into the addiction.

It is also necessary for outpatient addiction treatment in Michigan that the person must be able to stay determined for the treatment. This is necessary because the person must self-monitor the treatment by vowing to abstain from the substance. However, if the patient is not able to stay away from the substance for at least 72 hours, then the person will not be allowed to remain in outpatient treatment.
